“5210” Awareness campaign About Childhood Obesity

The “5210” campaign for CIC Mass communication students is an awareness initiative tackling childhood obesity by promoting healthy habits among children and mothers. It encourages 5 servings of fruits and vegetables daily, less screen time, regular physical activity, and avoiding sugary drinks to support a healthier future.

To spread its message effectively, the campaign introduced a variety of educational and community-based activities. These included the “اعرفي أكتر” podcast aimed at educating mothers, as well as the launch of the “5210” mobile application, designed as an interactive guide for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

The initiative also organized community activities during Ramadan in collaboration with Share a Smile, including a volunteering day dedicated to packing donation boxes. In addition, the campaign hosted awareness sessions at Tayba School in Mansoura and field activities at Merryland, Kids Club Zad in Suez, Zamalek Club, and EVO Fitness Club.

As part of its outreach efforts, the campaign held discussions with doctors and organized focus groups with mothers and children to encourage open conversations about healthy habits and child wellness. The campaign also gained media exposure through appearances on Channel Two and Al Shams 2 TV.

“5210” received honorary sponsorship from the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population, UNICEF, and the Ministry of Education, reflecting the importance of promoting healthier lifestyles for future generations.

Carrying the message:
“A small step today… can make a big difference tomorrow.”
