With the participation of 40 students from Audio-Visual Production, CIC Mass Communication contributed to the National Council for Women’s Media Observatory, analyzing the portrayal of women in Ramadan 2026 dramas.
CIC contributed to the analysis of 10 television series monitored during the holy month, supporting efforts to promote a more balanced and accurate representation of Egyptian women.
As part of its ongoing efforts, the National Council for Women, through its Media Committee, organized a ceremony to honor the observatory’s partners under the patronage and in the presence of Counselor Amal Ammar, President of the National Council for Women. In recognition of her contributions, Prof. Dr. Magdy El Helwany, Chairperson of CIC Mass Communication Institute, received a special honor during the ceremony. The event also brought together Prof. Dr. Nermeen El Azrak, Dean of Mass Communication-CIC; Dr. Yasmine Ali, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; and Dr. Manal Wagdy, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.

Established in 2016, the observatory continues to advance its scientific mission by promoting responsible media content, challenging stereotypes, and supporting a more balanced representation of women in the media.
Dr. Marwa Gamal El Din and Dr. Donia Tarek emphasized that students followed a scientific methodology based on the Media Code for Addressing Women’s Issues, issued by the National Council for Women’s Media Committee and approved by the Supreme Council for Media Regulation.
Through specialized training in monitoring techniques, content analysis, and evaluating the portrayal of women in drama, CIC students gained valuable research experience while contributing to a more responsible and balanced media landscape.
